Meet this adorable sibling group of three, Nathaniel (age 7), Eric (age 6), and Persiaus (age 3)!
We would prefer a Native American family, but all families will be considered. The children are members of the Navajo Nation and ICWA applies. Nathaniel: Nathaniel is in 1st grade receiving regular education. His favorite subject is math. He is a busy body when adults are present and likes to be the center of attention. In addition, he does have a short attention span. Eric: He enjoys all subject areas in school and is in KT. He is a bright child academically and socially. He stays on task with whatever he is doing until the task is completed. Persiaus: Persiaus is shy when she meets new people, but will open up after a short time and communicate with them. Persiaus also appears to be a bright child and is curious about her surroundings. Currently, she does not have any developmental delays identified at this time and is in daycare full-time. Please contact me at (505) 327-5316, ext. 1119 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, if you are interested in this sibling group. Thank you. Deborah Yost, Adoption Consultant
Respite Coordinator Change Effective July 1st 2013,
Attention All Foster Parents! Please Read Important Change in Procedures!
Due to Foster Parent Liaison contract changes/scope of work changes beginning with the new fiscal year, July 1st, Foster Parent Liaisons will no longer be coordinating respite services (this includes taking requests, locating homes, requesting approval, and notifying homes) for the Foster homes in their county. If you have previously submitted a request to us prior to the receiving of this letter your request has been forwarded.
Each county office will determine who will be the new designated person to complete this task. For San Juan County this person is Connie Smith- Placement Worker. This change will not affect the amount of respite a home receives per month. What it does mean is that it is vital to request respite with at least a two-week notice. CYFD Staff will not be able to complete requests without sufficient time as they have their day-to-day performance tasks as well to complete. Please make all plans to request respite as soon as you know you will need it. Also, please make sure and follow up with your request if you have not had feedback in adequate time. In order to better help document respite requests, we are asking that you complete a respite request form for each request you have submitted. A respite request form can be found in the forms section on this site. This documentation will help CYFD staff along with Foster Homes to ensure a respite request is completed in a timely manner.
Although this may take some time in getting use to, CYFD staff is committed to providing this service to our homes as we know and understand the need it serves. This is a change that only effects respite coordination and will allow liaisons to help provide more resources and services to homes besides respite. Please feel free to contact your placement staff and/or liaison with any questions you may have. We are all here to support this change! Thanks for all you do!
